Sambla Group – the perfect combination of tech and finance
Alva Grundberg is a rising star in the world of fintech, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring. She is currently working as a Product Owner of Insurance at Sambla Group, a Swedish fin-tech company that is revolutionizing the finance industry with its cutting-edge technology.
Alva's passion for finance and technology started at a young age as her mother, who always has been an important role model to her, worked in the tech industry. After finishing high school she decided to study Business and Economics at the Stockholm School of Economics and graduated in 2019. Soon she found a job as a Project Manager at a tech startup, where she honed her skills in project management and learned the ins and outs of the tech industry. Alva's thirst for knowledge and her desire to learn more about finance led her to take on a new job as a Corporate Finance at a bank. However, Alva felt that something was missing; she wanted to combine her passion for finance and tech in a meaningful way, and that's when she discovered Sambla Group where she started as a Business Developer for insurance.
“I’m very pleased that I found an employer where I can combine the two fields I’ve previously worked with, Sambla Group is the perfect combination of finance and the fast-paced tech industry. To work at a company that has the ability to change individuals' life and improve their standard of living is amazing, my colleagues inspire me every day”, Alva says.
A modern workplace
While Alva joined the company as a Business Developer for insurance it was only nine months later that she got promoted as Product Owner Insurance. In her new role, she is responsible for developing the insurance business by identifying and implementing initiatives to improve Sambla's KPIs and develop its insurance platforms so they are stabilised, scalable and user-friendly. Although Alva is passionate about technology and truly enjoys the industry she emphasizes that it is still male-dominated and she believes that it is important that people see women succeed as well, just like she saw her mom do.
“It shouldn’t be about gender anymore, it’s about having the right person at the right job. We need more diverse role models for the industry to be more inclusive and attractive.”, Alva says before concluding:
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity that Sambla Group has offered and I hope that one day I will be a role model for a person who can identify with me. It sounds like a cliché but I really do look forward to going to work each and every day, I’m very lucky in that sense.”
